If your license isn't activating, please contact our support team at support@stenox.app with your order email and we'll help you right away. License keys are sent to the email you used at checkout, which is also used for billing and portal access.
License keys are automatically sent to your email when you purchase through Polar.sh (our payment processor). Check your inbox and spam folder. The email you use at checkout is also used to manage your billing and access the customer portal.
Hold the Control key (or your configured hotkey) to start recording. Release to stop and transcribe. You can also use toggle mode with Option+Space.
Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and ensure Stenox has permission. You may need to restart the app after granting access.
In Settings → Transcription, select WhisperKit as your provider. The first time you use it, the model will download automatically. This works completely offline.
Yes! Stenox uses a bring-your-own-key model. Add your API keys in Settings for providers like DeepGram, AssemblyAI, Groq, OpenAI, and more.
In Settings → Post-Processing, enable the feature and choose between local MLX models (offline) or cloud providers like Gemini or Groq.
All data is stored locally on your Mac in an encrypted database. Nothing is sent to our servers. View your history in Settings → Statistics.
Profiles let you save different settings for different contexts. You can set rules to auto-activate profiles based on the app you're using.
Stenox needs Accessibility permissions. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and enable Stenox. Restart the app afterward.
